The Penn Regiment spinning rods are designed to cover nearly every situation the shore angler will come across. The 8 model is perfectly suited to light spinning with soft plastics and metals when fishing for mackerel, seatrout and gars. The 9 rod is suited for chucking surface plugs and bigger plastics into rocky ravines and deeper water. The 10′ heavier rod is the tool to use for pumping big lures and plastics into rip tides and heavy kelp beds and, when hooked, hauling bigger pollack and bass back to shore or boat . The actions are fast designed to give ultimate casting distance with a varied mixture of casting sizes, but with power in the bottom mid section and butt to give leverage and strength when a large stubborn specimen needs brought to heel.
